ABM MEDIA ADVISORY BOARD NAMES FIRST CHAIR
StarLink Worldwide media director to head media advisory board
NEW YORK, July 13, 2005 –American Business Media announces that Vickie Szombathy vp, media director of StarLink Worldwide, has been named chairperson for the recently formed Media Advisory Board.
Launched last Monday, the board brings together advertising agency media executives with key ABM member disciplines of research, promotion, and publishing, in an ongoing forum to exchange ideas about opportunities, current challenges and information needs. As chairperson, Szombathy will be charged with leading discussions and initiating actions that will ultimately strengthen communications between business-to-business ad agencies and business-to-business information providers.
Utilizing her 25 years of media experience, Szombathy will direct the board in achieving their goal to identify best practices and determine ways to provide value to marketers through targeted research and the dissemination of needed information that will assist in documenting the value of business-to-business media.
Active in the business media community, Szombathy is also a member of the BMA and currently chairs the business-to-business committee of the AAAAs. At StarLink, Szombathy directs media strategy and investment for the global Caterpillar AOR and industrial Heidelberg printers while managing StarLink’s creative agency partner, Biggs-Gilmore. Her recent b-to-b print campaign for Heidelberg garnered recognition for StarLink at Cannes and a Creative Media Award from Media magazine. A leader in business-to-business media, Szombathy has been twice named a “Top Media Strategist” by BtoB magazine.
