PRESS RELEASE

POST ELECTION OUTLOOK FOR HOUSING TO BE SUBJECT OF CONFERENCE

CHICAGO, IL, August 23—The nation’s most active developers, financiers and housing finance agency executives will convene here in November for a unique, high-level conference on the political and economic outlook for affordable housing.

Registration opened in August for AHF Live! The 2004 Tax Credit Developers’ Summit. AHF Live! is co-hosted by the Illinois Housing Development Authority, the Chicago Department of Housing, Apollo Housing Capital Corporation, GE Real Estate, GMAC Commercial Holding Capital Corp., Reznick Fedder & Silverman, Simpson Housing Solutions, LLC, and Virchow, Krause and Company, LLP.

“The market has been asking us for this event for a long time,” said Andre Shashaty, Editor & Publisher of Affordable Housing Finance magazine. “The magazine has developed a very loyal readership over the years. These readers want a chance to network together, face-to-face. They have the same problems, all over the country, and are looking for solutions to developing and financing affordable housing.”

The event is scheduled for Nov. 16 -18, 2004 at the Fairmont Chicago. AHF Live! will offer the first look at the post-election outlook for housing, including a bipartisan analysis of how federal housing policy may change, plus a candid discussion with Affordable Housing Finance’s Editorial Advisory Board on the challenges facing the tax credit program. Then it will turn to the nuts and bolts of getting your deals done. There will be two tracks on the advanced topics of most interest to you, aimed at for-profit and nonprofit sponsors, plus bonus sessions of special interest.

In response to developer preferences, education sessions will consist of moderated panel discussions on advanced topics, with lots of Q&A time. On each topic, panel members will come from a variety of disciplines, including developers and state and local housing agency executives as well as financial and professional services experts. A variety of project case studies will be presented by developers.

A few of the tentative speakers include Peter Holsten, Holsten Real Estate Development Corp., Patrick Sheridan of Volunteers of America, David Reznick of Reznick Fedder & Silverman, Anthony S. Freedman of Hawkins Delafield & Wood LLP and Shekar Narasimhan of Beekman Advisors.

The Summit will be held Nov. 16 – 18 at The Fairmont Chicago. For more information, visit http://www.ahflive.com/.
