TARIFICA LAUNCHES UMTS MOBILE DATA PRICING SERVICE
LONDON, September 27, 2005--Tarifica, the international pricing consultancy, has launched a new mobile data pricing service covering UMTS (3G) Pricing. The new service is a significant enhancement to its successful Global Mobile Tariff Service that includes postpaid and prepaid tariffs for over 200 operators in 104 countries.
The pace of 3G deployments is accelerating globally, and both operators and user organisations need to be aware of the different pricing strategies adopted by mobile service providers. Updated quarterly, the new service is a critical information solution, and the only definitive source in the market that provides detailed pricing information on mobile operators who have so far launched 3G / EDGE / WLAN services. Initially covering national and international prices for 48 operators in Europe, new operators will now be added.
The report highlights the trends in operators’ UMTS rollout strategies including volume and time based packages, EDGE or UMTS, or bundled GPRS/UMTS/WLAN. Key to their success and recouping costly licence fees, operators are projecting high adoption of these new services.
This service holds tariff information for business and residential UMTS services as well as GPRS, EDGE and WLAN. International usage is also provided. The service enables easy comparison of pricing strategies between competing operators in each country, and contains critical information for mobile operators, handset/network vendors, telecom regulators, investors and industry analysts.
The ‘UMTS (3G) Manual’ is available at a special launch publication rate of 2,495 Pounds for a 1 –year subscription from Tarifica.
