Monetizing Mobile Content
Free webinar THIS THURSDAY
This Thursday, February 3, ABM will host the last broadcast in its FREE webinar series dedicated to the challenges and opportunities that the mobile landscape poses for b-to-b media companies.
Past webinars have addressed the what, when and how. But, perhaps the biggest challenge of mobile content delivery is ROI. We are in a business of ever-shrinking ad dollars and growing expenses; how can we make our investments bring returns?
The series’ third webinar will feature a panel of industry thought leaders – including Chris Foster of GIE Media, Will Passano of Skyscape, Staffan Sandberg of 1105 Government Information Group, and Tripp Wiggins of Northstar Travel Media – and will explore their successes and challenges along the road to profitability.
Register now for this free event (click here to join the discussion in-person at ABM Headquarters, or here to view the webinar live from your desktop).
ABM’s webinar series is sponsored by CDS Global and ProImage MediaWay.

Visit www.AmericanBusinessMedia.com to listen in as Wally discusses the new challenges and opportunities confronting today’s b-to-b media professionals.

Mobile App Revenue to Reach $15.1 Billion This Year
Revenue from mobile apps will nearly triple this year to $15.1 billion, up from $5.2 billion last year, according to a new forecast from Gartner that was reported in BtoB magazine.
The report, “Forecast: Mobile Application Stores Worldwide, 2008-2014,”projects the number of mobile apps downloaded from online stores to reach 17.7 billion, more than double the 8.2 billion app downloads last year. By 2014, mobile app downloads will top 185 billion, Gartner projected.
“Many are wondering if the app frenzy we have been witnessing is just a fashion, and, like many others, it shall pass. We do not think so,” said Stephanie Baghdassarian, research director at Gartner, in a statement. “We strongly believe there is a sizable opportunity for application stores in the future. However, applications will have to grow up and deliver a superior experience to the one that a Web-based app will be able to deliver,” she added.
