Top Media Moves
Northstar Travel Media is up for sale and has the interest of many buyers. The company, which owns Travel Weekly, Business Travel News, Meetings & Conventions and Meeting News, among others, is among the first of what is expected to be a number of b-to-b media companies on the block this year and next. Northstar is owned by Boston Ventures and based in Secaucus, New Jersey.
Two ABM members earned top honors in Crain’s annual Social Media Marketing Awards. McGraw-Hill Companies won the “Best Use of Mobile” category and Marketo won the “Best Closed Community” category.
Bloomberg re-launched Businessweek with a new design created to relfect the visual and snappy read of the print edition. “Businessweek wants to be the brand for the new breed of business leader, who is much more global-minded, more curious about the world,” Paul Bascobert, president of Businessweek, told Adweek. “This is the Bloomberg Businesweek brand online. The brand essence is about new angles on stories.”
