Advanstar Communications has tapped Justyn Amstutz as a senior consultant to the motorcycle portfolio of its Powersports Division. He will consult on product strategy and customer development for the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows and Dealer Expo. Amstutz was formerly a partner and executive VP of National Powersports Auctions. He has held several positions with Cycle Express, including VP of sales and marketing. Read more.
Catalina Marketing has acquired Modiv Media, a mobile commerce solution company. "Modiv's retailer-proven mobile commerce solution, coupled with Catalina's scale, analytics and content, provides an unmatched mobile shopper marketing solution for large retailers," said Mike Grimes, SVP of mobile commerce for Catalina and former CEO of Modiv Media. Meredith Corp.'s b-to-b focused marketing solutions division, Meredith Xcelerated Marketing (MXM), has lost a big deal-maker with the resignation of MXM head Martin Reidy. According to a report in AdWeek, revenue has been down for the division, and 80 staffers were laid off recently, "due primarily to MXM clients scaling back programs in response to the economy," writes Lucia Moses. "Insiders said Reidy’s departure was unrelated to the cuts being made this week, however. They said he tired of the constant acquisition-related travel and that he wanted to have more time at home."

ABM elects slate of officers, adds seven new members at Annual Conference in San Francisco
ABM voted April 30 to approve the new Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. At the top of the slate is incoming chair and Farm Progress Companies president Jeff Lapin. In addition, ABM approved the addition of three new media members and four new associate members at its Annual Conference in San Francisco. ABM postal expert weighs in on the Senate's USPS reform bill
Chief legislative lobbyist Tom Carpenter says that "the fact that a bill has been reported out is great news, but the Senate bill is weaker than we would like in terms of reforms.
