Dear American Business Media Member:
Your publication has the power to promote cleaner air…to markedly help reduce air pollution. By supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) -sponsored public service advertising campaign for SmartWay Transport Partnership, you will be encouraging shippers (any company that ships or receives a product using freight transportation) and for-hire carriers (trucking companies) to join this effort.
SmartWay Transport Partnership is a voluntary collaboration between the U.S. EPA and the freight industry designed to reduce greenhouse gases and air pollution, as well as to promote more fuel efficient ground transportation. By 2012 EPA intends to reduce up to 33 to 66 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions and up to 200,000 tons of nitrogen oxide emissions annually. At the same time, the SmartWay initiative will result in fuel savings of up to 150 million barrels of oil annually.
There are five different SmartWay “Product on Wheels” ads to choose from and download in full page or 1/3 page size units (“banana”, “camera”, “shopping cart”, “fragile box” and “calculator”). Other size units can gladly be made upon request. Contact the Plowshare Group production department at: 203-425-3949.
Target Audience:
Executives and managers (CEO’s, CFO’s, Logistics Managers, Transport Managers, Fleet Managers, and Environmental Managers) of any company that ships products with contract carriers or has its’ own truck fleet. Key industries are consumer products, industrial manufacturers, retailers, agriculture. The other key target is executives of trucking companies, small, medium and large trucking firms that deliver these products.
Thank you for using your B2B publication for the public good. If you have any questions about the SmartWay program, feel free to contact Ms. Joann Jackson Stephens of the U.S. EPA’s Office of Transportation & Air Quality at (734) 214-4276 or log on to www.epa.gov/smartway.
