Mission

The Editorial Committee's mission is to:

  • Create, maintain and communicate programs that instill ethics and editorial excellence.
  • Develop and provide practical, graphical, and editorial tools.
  • Continue to recognize publicly the best of business journalism both within and outside the trade publishing industry.
  • Promote editorial participation in the activities of American Business Media.

 

Projects:
The committee designed a PowerPoint presentation for journalism schools about the rewarding career of writing for business information companies.

The committee continued to produce two of ABM's most recognizable annual events: The Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards and the William D. Littleford Awards.

The committee supports the Business Press Educational Foundation's efforts by coordinating the creation of the Reed Business Information Intern Scholarship, which awards a $1,000 stipend to the year's most outstanding intern.

The committee created a webcast for all ABM editors titled "The Role of Online from an Editors Perspective."
