B-TO-B ECOSYSTEM UPDATE:
ABM, IAB Make Progress on Digital Media Standards for B-to-B Industry

As an integral component of its new strategic plan, ABM continues to reignite its relationships with other organizations, positioning itself to develop an integrated b-to-b media ecosystem that will benefit the business media and information community.

Delivering on that initiative, ABM and the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) have met on several recent occasions to develop a set of digital media policies and guidelines that will become the standard for the b-to-b industry.

“It is illogical to have two gauges of railroad,” commented ABM President & CEO Gordon T. Hughes, II. “And it is my view that marketers and advertisers seek only one set of media industry standards. The IAB has already done some outstanding work in establishing digital policies and standards. As we are the center of the b-to-b ecosystem, it is the responsibility of ABM and our Digital Media Council to ensure that these standards are relevant for our industry.”

ABM will present these digital b-to-b media standards during its board of directors meeting next month, so stay tuned.

ABM Welcomes Larry Oliver to Spearhead Membership Development Efforts

ABM recently announced that its new strategic plan, which, among other things, emphasizes the Association’s value proposition, has generated a significant trend in the return of former member companies. While past media members have recently rejoined the Association, ABM continues to seek new opportunities for recruitment.

To further this success, ABM is delighted to welcome Larry Oliver to help drive the Association’s membership efforts on a project basis.

Oliver is a multi-platform-focused sales executive with an impressive record of top performance. He brings extensive experience within the b-to-b industry, having worked for several ABM member companies including Crain Communications, Reed Business Information, where he spent 16 years, and most recently, Advanstar Communications.

“Larry’s successful track record and breadth of experience in b-to-b, which spans almost 30 years, brings an outstanding capability to expand the Association’s membership,” said ABM President & CEO Gordon T. Hughes, II. “Larry comes highly recommended by several ABM member executives, and I am confident that he is the right man at the right time for this role.”

“With the bulk of my career spent at leading b-to-b media companies, I am pleased to help ABM grow and expand its membership,” Oliver added. “Having worked both inside and outside of ABM, I am aware of how critical the Association’s role is to the industry it serves.”

Oliver is the recipient of five industry awards for outstanding service and innovation, and is a frequent speaker at industry trade shows and conferences.
