BUSINESS PUBLICATIONS SHOW STRONG AD REVENUE GROWTH
Year-to-date revenue was up by 5.87% over same period 2004
NEW YORK, June 15, 2005—The Business Information Network (BIN) report for April 2005 shows substantial growth in revenues for business-to-business publications for the year-to-date. Combined revenues of the first four months in 2005 jumped 5.87% compared to the previous year. Monthly totals showed an increase in revenue of 4.54% over April 2004. The Business, Advertising & Marketing category, and Architecture Design, Lighting, led the pack with 20.65% and 20.26% increases in revenue, respectively, in the first four months of 2005.
Ad page increases for many categories were strong in April as well. The Architecture Design, Lighting category increased 16.93% in April 2005 over last year. Automotive and Agriculture categories also showed healthy page-growth, increasing 8.5% and 6.74%, respectively.
“This increase in revenue is very encouraging and illustrative that the business-to-business market is getting stronger and gaining momentum,” said Gordon T. Hughes, II, president and CEO of American Business Media.
In January 2005, American Business Media augmented its reporting model for magazine advertising sales in industry markets, as relayed through BIN, by examining 22 markets comprised of all business-to-business books tracked by IMS/The Auditor, and PERQ/HCI for healthcare figures. The new model boosts the database from 800 business-to-business publications to more than 1,600 publications.
