About the honorees:

Carla Hendra, Co-CEO Ogilvy North America & Chairman, Ogilvy New York

Named Co-CEO of Ogilvy North America in 2005 and appointed chairman of Ogilvy New York in 2007, Carla Hendra has been the driving force of digital at Ogilvy for more than 10 years. She is also a member of both the Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide Board and the OgilvyOne Worldwide Board.

Carla joined Ogilvy in 1996 as part of Steve Hayden’s legendary “Team Blue,” which served the IBM account globally. She was appointed president of OgilvyOne New York in 1998, following her successful leadership of IBM’s direct and digital business.

Carla spearheads Ogilvy’s digital marketing unit, OgilvyInteractive, a full-service interactive agency specializing in digital communications, content and community. OgilvyInteractive was recently named one of the leading digital marketing agencies in North America by Forrester Research, based on its pioneering digital work on behalf of clients such as IBM, American Express, Yahoo!, TD AMERITRADE, Unilever, SAP, Kraft, Allstate, Cisco and Wyeth. OgilvyOne and OgilvyInteractive have won more awards than any other agency in their category for innovation and results in digital and direct marketing.

In 2004, Carla launched the Verge conference, Ogilvy’s global digital summit series, and hosts this thought leadership event each year in the U.S. She also speaks frequently on digital innovation at conferences such as Web 2.0, the Future of Online Advertising and the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE).

Carla served as the first-ever female jury chair of the Cannes Advertising Festival when she presided over the 2001 Cyber Lions. She was selected one of Working Mother magazine’s “Advertising Working Mothers of the Year” in 2004, and named Advertising Woman of the Year by AWNY in 2005. Actively involved in the communications industry, Carla is a member of the board of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and is also a member of the 4As board of directors. 

Carla became a David Rockefeller Fellow of The New York City Partnership in 2006.  She is active in several organizations promoting inner city education, including PENCIL and Schools That Can. Carla also serves on the board of inMotion, which provides pro bono legal services to New York women in need. Named to the board of directors of Brown Shoe, a global footwear manufacturer and retailer, in 2005, Carla was also elected board director of Unica, a global leader in enterprise marketing management software solutions, in 2007. She was named to the board of Dress for Success in 2007.

Judy Hu, Global Executive Director, Advertising & Branding, GE

Judy Hu is Global Executive Director, Advertising and Brand for GE.  She is responsible for GE’s brand message around the world.  She oversees advertising, digital, Olympic marketing and branding initiatives.

In 2003, Hu launched a global campaign, “Imagination at Work,” designed to introduce a new vision for the company, communicate the vast range of GE’s products and services, and contemporize and humanize the corporation’s image.  The campaign has surpassed its objectives in the marketplace and has won many awards, including Gold and Silver Effies, “Best Integrated Campaign for 2003” from B2B, a Silver Cyber Lion at Cannes, and National Gold Addys.  In 2005, “Imagination at Work” was a winner in NY Ad Week’s “America’s Favorite Ad Slogan” contest.

In 2004, Hu introduced a simplified global brand architecture for GE and its businesses, and new design guidelines for the company,

In 2005, Hu launched GE’s “ecomagination” campaign, which won the CEBA Grand Prize. Additionally, the eco television ad, “Singin’ in the Rain,” was the highest scoring ad in the USA TODAY Ad Tracking Survey, and in 2007 “Jar” was nominated for an Emmy.
 
Before joining GE, Hu spent five years with General Motors. She joined GM from DMB&B, Bloomfield Hills, where she was Senior Vice President. Prior to that, Hu worked in Hong Kong for Leo Burnett, managing accounts ranging from airlines to banks to telephone companies, and at DMB&B, New York on Procter and Gamble brands. She began her career in the publishing industry in Boston, editing and designing trade books and textbooks.

Hu graduated cum laude from Harvard and received an MBA from Yale. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the Ad Council and the Association of National Advertisers. In 2006, she received an Asian Women in Business Award; in 2003, an AAF District 2 Diversity Achievement Award; in 2002, was named to the Automotive News list of "All Stars;" and in 1996, was named a “Woman to Watch” by Advertising Age.

Marion Minor, President & CEO, M2Media 360

Marion Minor is president and CEO of M2MEDIA360, a multi-faceted publishing and business information company serving the Adult Beverage, Candy and Snacks, Fine Jewelry, Fuel, Geospatial, Horticulture, Natural Food, Petroleum/Convenience, Specialty Coffee and Tobacco industries.

Marion began her career working in the information services business with a company specializing in feature advertising tracking, which was acquired by A.C. Nielsen in 1986. She managed the client information teams for California wineries including E & J Gallo along with traditional packaged goods manufacturers such as Clorox, Dial and Nestle Beverage.

Armed with her expertise in syndicated research for the Adult Beverage industry, Marion became managing partner of Adams Business Media’s eight-year joint venture with A.C. Nielsen which successfully expanded the reach of new and existing business information services. Through this association with Adams, Marion began managing their Adult Beverage publications and resource guides, which she acquired along with a merchandising intelligence service in 2002. The additional publications were acquired in July 2005 and April 2006.

Marion is an active member of American Business Media, serving on its board of directors and leading its regional meeting initiative in Northern California.

Victoria Chu Pao, President, Platts, The McGraw-Hill Companies

Victoria Chu Pao is president of Platts, the global energy industry information leader. Platts has a long history of enabling energy markets through such offerings as independent industry news and price benchmarks. The company covers the oil, natural gas, electricity, nuclear power, coal, carbon emissions, shipping, petrochemical, risk, and metals markets through real-time news and price assessments, publications, conferences, and analytical tools and services.

As president, Ms. Pao is responsible for 600 employees, two-thirds of which are outside the United States, in 17 offices serving 150 countries. Focusing on brand recognition, product innovation and e-solutions, Ms. Pao has worked to strengthen Platts’ global market position especially within international arenas like China, the Middle East, India and Russia. Additionally, under Ms. Pao’s leadership, Platts has extended its century-long price benchmark expertise to new focus markets such as steel, carbon emissions, liquefied natural gas, and risk.

Ms. Pao’s success at the McGraw-Hill Companies began in 1997, when she joined the company through the Management Development Program. She has held a number of key positions across The McGraw-Hill Companies’ three business segments of Financial Services, Education and Information & Media, most recently serving as vice president of marketing and business development at McGraw-Hill Construction. Ms. Pao was appointed president of Platts in 2005.

Ms. Pao’s accomplishments have been recognized at The McGraw-Hill Companies through numerous Corporate Achievement Awards and as a recipient of the 2004 Excellence in Leadership Award.  In addition, Ms. Pao was honored as a member of the YWCA-NYC Academy of Women Leaders in 2004.  In 2006, she was the recipient of the annual Corporate Leadership Award from Asian Women in Business.

Ms. Pao regularly speaks at international industry conferences and universities on topics such as energy market outlook, the importance of market transparency, and business globalization.

Ms. Pao holds a B.A. in Economics and East Asian Studies from Harvard University, and an M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.

Erin Moriarty, Correspondent, 48 HOURS MYSTERY, CBS News

Erin Moriarty has been a correspondent for 48 HOURS since 1990.  She has covered the murder of Princess Diana, the flawed JonBenet Ramsey investigation, the murder of financier Edmund Safra, and the war in Iraq. 
 
Before that, Moriarty was the consumer correspondent for "CBS This Morning" 1986-90 and the “CBS Evening News with Dan Rather” in 1990.

Drawing on her training as a lawyer, Moriarty has examined some of the most important social and legal issues of the day, including DNA testing of evidence in death-row cases, the abortion controversy and battered woman's syndrome.  She covered the Oklahoma City bombing, the Columbine High School shootings and the 9/11 investigation overseas.  Her exclusive behind-the-scenes report on the defense of convicted Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh was broadcast on 60 MINUTES in 1997.

Moriarty has received numerous honors, including nine national Emmy Awards, a 2001 Overseas Press Club Award for her work on 48 HOURS and two Association of Women in Radio and Television Gracie Allen Awards for the weekly talk show that she co-hosted with Nancy Giles on WPHT Radio in Philadelphia (2003-04).  In both 2000 and 2003, she was honored with the Top 100 Award from Irish America magazine.  In 1988, Moriarty received the Outstanding Consumer Media Service Award presented by the Consumer Federation of America for "her many contributions of both local and national significance as a consumer reporter."

Prior to joining CBS News in 1986, she was an award winning consumer reporter for the NBC Owned and Operated WMAQ-TV Chicago (1983 86).  She was also a reporter in Columbus (Ohio) at the NBC affiliate WCMH-TV (1979-80),  Baltimore at the CBS affiliate WJZ-TV (1980-82) and Cleveland at CBS affiliate WJKW-TV (1982-83).

Moriarty was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Columbus, Ohio.  She was graduated from Ohio State University, Phi Beta Kappa, with a degree in behavioral sciences and received a law degree from the university in 1977.  Moriarty is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Maryland.  She lives in New York with her husband, who is also an attorney.  She has one son.
